The Bay Chapter of the Sierra Club urges active participation by Sierra Club members in the national "Day of Protest" against the Federal Recreation Fee Demonstration Program (Fee Demo) on August 14, 1999, by undertaking the following actions:
2. Organizing Sierra Club individuals and entities to stage a public demonstration of protest against Fee Demo in San Francisco on August 14 for the purpose of distributing literature and postcards, as well as engaging the public in conversation regarding the "Day of Protest" and the reasoning behind the Sierra Club's participation.
3. Contacting public media in advance of August 14 to maximize newspaper, radio, and television coverage of the "Day of Protest".
4. Encouraging Sierra Club individuals and entities to write letters to decision makers and the media regarding Fee Demo and in support of legislation to end Fee Demo.
